A3 MPG please help!!!!!!!!

Hi all. I've just sold my scooby and looking to buy a A3 1.8 T,1998. Can some one tell me please how many miles il get to a tank,how much to fill etc? Was geting about 300 to the scooby with £60 to fill.

You'll do better than that. I get an easy 350 miles out of my S3 which costs about £60 to fill too. Had a 1.8T a few years ago and IIRC it was more economical than the S3...low - mid 30's mpg.

Won't be as fast as the Scoob mind!

Mine did about 29-32 with a pretty heavy footed driver. Despite being totally characterless the 20vt is a great engine.

I was getting around 400 miles to the tank in my S3 with mostly motorway miles.

I had a '99 1.8T for about 7 years and in 165,000 miles of motorway driving I could get 39mpg+ easily. Country roads I think aroung 33-34mpg. Never lived in a city.
During the fuel protests I managed 49mpg on the M6 !!!!
