Clutch gone on Alhambra....
Discussion
Ok in the last month my clutch on my old school 110bhp TDi has started slipping under load. Local spanner man quotes £250 for clutch change labour only. I suspect my DMF is fine however I know the recommended procedure is to change the DMF and slave cylinder while you can get to it.
The best price for a DMF (LUK) is £200 off ebay plus a clutch is about £70. Alternatively I could buy a single mass flywheel and clutch for £170, however I have read about rattling at idle with these conversions and I suspect there may be a bit more vibration. Having said that they seem to clamp up about 30% harder so may cope with the torque better than the DMF one, especially as I intend to tweak the engine at some point.
