Variable servicing, indicator reset

My 2004 2.5 TDI Audi is on a variable service regime however to my great dismay it tells me I have 420 days or a mere 1000 miles to my next service. The last service was in Feb and I have covered a grand total of 7000 miles since then. I'm very happy to service the car myself now that the car is over 4 years old and out of warranty but will I be able to reset the time to next service indicator myself?

Sift through the owner's manual. My A4 is an earlier vintage but I was pleasantly surprised to be able to reset the service indicator by something like holding down the trip reset and turning the ignition on.
