I've just had a new screen fitted to the A4. Would that mean a new rain sensor, or do they use the old one.

In either case, is it adjustable? I'm finding that it's just too sensitive, even on the lowest setting on the steering column stalk, meaning that during light rain, it wipes a virtually dry screen.

Not sure its sensitivity is adjustable other than by adjusting the lever on the stalk, but the sensor sits in the bracket that hold the rear view mirror.

I usually turn them off for the very same reason! Nice idea but not amazing execution.

I hate to say this, but BMW execute the idea better. Theirs are less sensitive. I turn mine off, and use the sensors provided by mother nature....eyes

Oh come on the auto wipers on my technician's mrs' £1000 Fiat work better than Audi's laugh

Maybe they're designed to work in an Amazon rainy season or something?

Some of the higher parts of Austria can be pretty wet. That must be the reason. The wipers are well engineered just a little too keen

Aha, a ploy to make you buy more wiper blades!

When rain sensing wipers first cam out we were all thinking that was the biggest gimmick no one will ever use. Then we got the cars that wake you up when you've drifted into the next lane, and this year we got high beams that dip when a car comes the other way.

Some things are best left to the driver.

Agree with all the above - Most things Audi build work very well - Rain sensing wipers a complete waste of time - Never doing the right thing at the right time - What was wrong with good old "Intermitant" setting - seemed to work fine ??? Turn mine off, and only use when raining ( surprisingly !! )
