R8 V8 depreciation? How bad in the next few months?
Discussion
I've decided to treat my self this Christmas and swap my 911 C4S for something else. Now I'm not sure what to go for, I'm thinking about a few things including a 911 turbo and an R8.
My main concern with the R8 is that V8 prices will just plummet now that
1) The V10 is out
2) The spyder is out pretty soon
I'd be looking at spending probably about £65k on an R8 and would probably be keeping it until march(ish) so what does everyone think it will be worth? I don't mind loosing a little bit, but I really don't want to loose stupid money.
Thanks

Don't take this as gospel, as a dealer told me, but I took mine into a main dealer for a warranty recall 2 weeks ago, got it valued, same price as what I paid for it in Feb, and was told in the little black book they are rising at £700 a month... merely relaying what I was told, happy to hear alternative views... Market is a bit odd right now.
Actually the real low point for these was Jan/Feb time, I know I watched
The good news is that new V8 production is now next to zero, a person shopping for a £65k V8 is unlikely to be the same customer umm'ing and ahhh'ing over a £100k V10 and Spyders are at least a 12 month list wait. For how many V8's there are in the market and the battering they got earlier on, if there is a bottom, we are currently on an upward bounce... that said, frankly couldn't give a stuff as I forget what its worth every time I drive it and hear that burble

I've had my "used purchase" one year old R8 for 2 and a half months now. It's Mugello blue with oxygen sideblades and light grey leather.
I LOVE it!!!!!
The depreciation has already hit due to the V10 - mine was almost £30K off list for a year old 9600 mile car.
Trouble now is I am tempted to go for a new one as I now know it's the car for me and fancy one that's "untouched by others".
