Audi A4 emissions light
Discussion
I am interested to know if anyone has had any issues with the emissions warning light on an Audi.
My A4 2.0d went in 3 weeks ago because the emissions light came on. They would not replace the lambda sensor n case it was not broken and they could not recover the cost under warranty.
Needless to say their fix lasted a ouple of days only. Then the light came back plus the particulate filter warning light and the engine went into limp home mode.
Audi roadside assistance came out and recharged(?) the filter but left the warning lights on so the garage could see the problems. This time the garage replaced the lambda sensor and recharged the filter again.
All was well for 2 days, and hey presto the emssions light is back on. Booked into Audi Huntingdon yet again, but do not feel they know what the problem is. Any similar experiences?

Lambda isnt directly linked to DPF, although it could have a slight knock on effect.
Probably needs a differential pressure sensor or exhaust gas temperature sensor.
You dont provide enough info to go on, what fault was stored in the car, or was it just a case of the DPF needing regeneration??
DPF's dont really work very well on the PD engines if you only do short runs, but 20miles should be ok. The common rail engines are much better for not blocking the DPF on short runs.
