Buying a new Golf
Discussion
Broadspeed are pretty good but I've used this firm before on a 335D and they were excellent.

Best idea personally is to go on the VW site, locate all the dealers within 100 miles. Email them all on Monday with the spec you want stating you are wanting to order Friday first thing and you would like their BEST price outright. Give your contact details and town to prove you are serious. My family has bought 2 cars like this and it does work (prices very close to broker). Gives you a chance to play them off against one another a bit too.
Try all the brokers, heres a short list:
Orangewheels
AutoFinders
Carfile
Autobytel
CarPriceChecker
Broadspeed
Autoebid
Broker4cars
DealDrivers
Uknewcars
Coast2CoastCars
DriveTheDeal
BuyACar
PS - The Golfs are very very popular at the moment so the discounts are not huge, and all models apart from the entry level 80PS 1.4 are in short supply and you would be looking at 2010 delivery, especially so with the uber popular TSI 122.

If I were vetting the new one now I'd be getting the 170 GT TDI
Dosent exist anymore, got replaced by the GTD, which would be a very silly buy since it costs more than a better equipped Scirocco with the same engine, and a GTI or Audi A3 TDI 170 can be had for the same money. The general concencus is the TSI engines are the ones to go for.
