Audi Tyre Load Rating
Discussion
Hi mine is a 2008 and has 235/40/18 ZR 95Y, so technically he is correct.
May be worth a call to an Audi main dealer, alternatively check out blackcircles.com where there is loads of advice.
I personnal think that they fit way over rated tyres in terms of performance, however there may be some other reason.

I belive that load index is pretty important, the A6 is a heavy car with the engine over the front axle, cornering will put alot of lateral load on the front tyres.
If its safety, why compromise? You may find that the wrong load index will invalidate your insurance so its best to give your insurers a call too

No sure about the A4 avant. On my car the details are on a sticker inside the fuel filler flap. You should see a tyre size written like this (these are mine) 255 35 ZR19 96Y XL. The 96Y is the load index and XL denotes that they are extra load tyres.Could you tell me which is the correct load rating then for my A4 avant or where i can source this info? cheers.
