A6 Switch gear
Discussion
I have a late 2005 A6 Avant. The bank of switches in the drivers door has developed an intermittent fault when raising the front passenger window from the drivers side.
This same bank of switches contains all 4 e/w and the child lock buttons for the rear door.
I'd like to know if I'll need to replace the whole unit or can the faulty switch be changed ?
What is the correct way to access and remove the switch(es) ?
If I was to try and source a second hand unit are they unique to the A6 or are they used on A4 / A8 some VW ?
Finally , anyone have access to the Audi price of the new part ?
Thanks
Rob

If your sure its teh cause, You need the drivers door switch pack, you cant replace the individual switches within the pack.
Phone your local Audi centre with your Vin number handy for the price of the audi part, No obligation to buy, get the part number at the same time and then google it, if its VAG wide there will be someone eho has it, but I think they're A6 specific personally.
Regarding fitting, you have to take the door card off (be carfull with the bowden cable and teh harness to the driver dfoor control module. Removed the armrest type thing from the door card via the screws in the back of the door card. The you can get the switch pack out. Door card retaining clips will probably break on removal, its quite fidely but DIY'able.

You've managed to confirm all my worst fears in one post . Thanks for a thorough reply though, somehow I didn't think it was going to be prise out the single faulty switch with a srewdriver and replace with genuine £1 switch from our parts departmentPhone your local Audi centre with your Vin number handy for the price of the audi part, No obligation to buy, get the part number at the same time and then google it, if its VAG wide there will be someone eho has it, but I think they're A6 specific personally.
