Currently the car has 265/45/17 on the back and 235/50/17 on the front. Drives and handles fine but going for a tyre and wheel upgrade soon and wondered if I could put same size all round? Not so big it skips over the bumps but nice balance needed.

Also what oil would you recommend for next change? I was thinking Magnatec 10/40w.

whats is a good head unit to fit to replace old unit? Nothing too flash just nice sound and easy operation that fits in with dash colour scheme

thanks in advance

I can't remember what the correct size is but it's imperative you put the same size on ASAP. Preferably the same type, tread pattern etc too. Otherwise you'll be slowly wrecking the TorSen differential. The car will handle better with uniform tyres too

As above, Yertis is utterly correct
I have S6 17in avus wheels on my S4, OEM size is 255 40 17 all round.

Wrong sized tyres will destroy a torsen system.

note eveyr quattro i have had has same sized tyres all round, had 6 now.

I have the standard 16in alloys on my '96 S6 saloon, but have been thinking about upgrading the tyres to something a little stickier (there are a mish-mash of different makes on it at present).

I was thinking about some Toyo Proxes T1-R...
