Which Oil for MkV GTi

Does anyone know what grade of oil VW recommends for the MkV GTi? I could do with getting a top-up litre for my 2006 GTi. The car gets serviced once a year and only does 6k miles pa - so not on any long life regime.

The oil should be 10w40 semi synthetic I think. Double check on that

15w40/50. Best thing to do would be go into VW and get the oil they recommend.

That's odd as it's the same engine as my Octy vRS, but looking at that website it recommends 15w-30 for the Octy - something like Castrol Edge or equivalent, regardless of servicing schedule.
