Hi
My A6 is on the long life service schedule (2001 2.4 v6 petrol 140K miles)
It think from memory the computer is indicating that it needs the next service in the next couple of thousand miles.
I don't have the technical ability or space to do the service myself otherwise I would.
I appreciate that the long life service uses a different grade of oil, but can't I take it to the local garage to carry out a service anyway, what other difference will the long life service make, can I not just go to fixed servicing? When the oil is changed can we not replace it with whatever grade is used for the fixed service schedule? (It does tend to use a drop of oil anyway)
How could I reset the computer to stop it telling me it needs a service if I go down this route? I ususally take it to the local VAG specialists but is it really worth it?
The car is used by the wife during the week to drive round town, so a lot of stop start driving, with a run up the m3 and back most weekends.
Is there anything else I should be aware of?
Many thanks
