Firstly, tyresmoke.net is where you need to be.

I've had 3 of these. Not much goes wrong really.

Tough bds so usual stuff with a car of that mileage - knocks and bangs will be worn bushes of some description, duff aircon, poor repairs, irregular servicing etc...

Get a good one and you'll double that mileage smile

More than...

Check if rear anti roll bar is done as that was a fail point due to perishable plastic parts on it and costs 250. Also check the wiper operation as the wiper mech is a known failure point and costs roughly 80 quid to replace.

On checking service history make sure water pump was changed at last cambelt as it is recommended they are to be replaced at each cambelt as they iirc tend to fail after about 80-90k miles (tame tech could confirm this).

Also make sure you have spare wheel AND locking nut. When you turn the ignition on the osd will show when next service is due and if there are any issues such as front pads or disks needing doing or oil low etc etc.

Front has two pads you may as well visually inspect the outer which should be something like 7 or 8 mm thick.

Climate control is two zone. Check both sides work on their own as you can set both to work of drivers side controls.
