Right, my turn for a question tongue out

My 99.5 A4 has the factory Bose upgrade and the NSF speaker has died a death, I really do not fancy the 81.50+VAT they cost for a single replacement from Audi and none of the breakers are prepared to sell me a single one, only a whole Bose setup (obviously I do not need this).

Has anyone had much joy fitting aftermarket speakers instead? Decent component sets are well under £100 but don't want to run into wiring/amplification problems or worsen the sound by fitting cheap speakers.

I think I'd need these; can I simply chop the OE connectors off and splice to new speakers?

Answered my own question: Pulled apart and played with it, nothing more complex than stripping the connector off the existing loom.

Do you think that you can get a better sound from an aftermarket speaker without spending over £100? I personaly found the Bose in my old A3 8L very clear if not the loudest, and I've had some decent aftermarket speakers in my cars in the past?
