Mk3 Golf starting issues
Discussion
Hey everyone,
Was driving back from town the other day and the car cut out (revs slowly dropped to 0) then it wouldn't start. Tried starting in gear and it pulled on the starter motor (about 400rpm) but nothing else. After about 10 min it caught and 3 miles later (when I got home) it cut out again. Tried it a couple of days later and it wouldn't start. AA man said the fuel pump wasn't turning over and something in the fusebox (began with R I think?) had gone. Towed it to a garage near me and the bloke said it could also be the alarm (aftermarket - fitted before I bought the car) and that he didn't trust what most AA/RAC mechanics said.
Anyone experienced similar problems or got any ideas?
Thanks,
Tom
