Any news on the rs5 ?

My local dealer seems to think around April 2010, as their demonstrator should be arriving around then.

4.2 V8 Twin turbo i believe. Same as the one in the C5 RS6.

I understand too that the RS3 will be due around the same time, possibbly with the TTRS's 2.5 Turbo. They closed both the C6 RS6 (Germany?) and TTRS (lithuania?) sites to begin building the RS5 and RS3.

Yeah, they stopped producing RS6 a short while ago (although the new RS6 'Plus' is due to be released soon but thats probably already been built) and the production on the TTRS i think is just being closed down now. The TTRS never really made a big impression though did it? What they do is, produce a bunch of cars, store them for sale and then move onto the next while the last models are being sold.

As far as I'm aware TT RS is still in production as you can order a car to spec from the factory whereas RS6 has been out of production for a while now. RS cars tend to get an 18 month(ish) production run from quattro GMBH although all TT models are made at a separate plant anyway.

Early rumours were that a 4.5 V8 N/A was developed alongside the latest FSI V10 but all the recent stuff suggests the return of the twin turbo V8 (yay!). If you listen carefully to the videos of the nurburgring mules there is a distinct S-Tronic 'parp' on gearshifts and the exhaust woofle is a lot like the old RS6.

I bought Car magazine today. They're on about the same 4.2 v8 in the R8/RS4 but producing 450bhp and 330lb ft. If the rumour is true that the car is going to be £60000 then I think I'd be waiting for a used one.
