Evening everyone,

I saw this advert in the PH Classifieds, which mentions a Carbon Fibre exhaust surround.
RS4 Estate advert
I emailed the seller to ask about this item, but he bought the car with this part already attached and doesn't know where it came from.

So I'm hoping someone on here may be able to tell me where such an item comes from.
Can someone please tell me if it was an Audi item, or from an aftermarket tuner?

Furthermore, I recently read that Audi offered a steering wheel with carbon fibre detaling rather than the aluminum/plastic trim usually found on the flat-bottom steering wheel. Does anyone know if this particular item is still available?

Many thanks in advance,

Darren

If you are referring to the Evo piece on buying RS4s second hand there was no Audi CF option that I know of:

either the ali flat bottomed wheel
or the ugly MF wheel, which came as an option or was forced upon you if you went with bluetooth in the armrest

another option available was black suede finish to wheel / gear knob but this replaced the leather pieces only and retained the ali bits

personally I like the ali bits - I know its plastic but certainly not ill-fitting on my car

As far as I'm aware that's correct - I've the original brochures as PDFs if anyone wants them or wants to upload.

Your car looked superb in the article by the way Darren smile

Thanks for the replies and links, guys thumbup

Adam B: Many thanks for the correction on the steering wheel - and yes it was the EVO article in which I read it.

Dr G: Thanks for the comments. She's still looking as good as she did the day I picked her up from Fontain (a few extra stone chips notwithstanding) - and she's covered some proper mileage since then biggrin
The car may look good, but that mug shot of me is horrendous! hehe

How was the experience with Evo. They asked me for my car but I had to decline as it was in the bodyshop having a panel replaced. You were their 2nd choice biglaugh

I probably would have said yes so curious how the day went, did they give the car a good polish? (actually think my phantom black car with optics pack would not have photographed as well as your lighter colour)

Hijack thread moment here, does anyone know where I can find interior trim pieces on an C6, A6 3.0 TDI??

The previous owner scratched the hell out of the drivers door one and the one above the glovebox.

Cheers.

They're all available from Audi - front door inserts for S-Line brushed Ally are 33 and the glove box inlay is 22.

The day was really intriguing. I took along a friend who is also interested in photography and cars.
I arrived at the studio in Leighton Buzzard around noon and we didn't leave until gone 4:30.
The author interviewed me, asking after my experience with the car, along with any general information I knew about the model.
Periodically, the photographer asked me to shunt around my car to get different angles.
It would take around 15-20 minutes to set up most shots, however the occasional one took longer, and the chap was very particular about the lighting.
I should imagine it would have been boring for those witha short attention span, but my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
A superb, if small, insight into how they put a Buyer's Guide together thumbup

'fraid not!
Apparently the author was asking around on the rs246 forum, and he seems to have picked up the info from there, where a member makes them!
