Hi

I have bought a 2001 Passat tdi 130bhp, 110k miles and put 18" RS6 wheels on it. But it has a strange problem. The traction control keeps coming on for no reason 70mph on motorway, 30mph in the town not really under acceleration but the smallest of bends or hills, also the brakes seem very bad but all pads are nearly new.

Any ideas to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Not sure if the brakes/traction control are connected or seperate problems?

When it happens you have to slow down or take foot off the gas for a few seconds and it fixes itself. With the braking it stops ok in the town and there are no noises but braking at speed seems to take forever and even braking really hard doesnt make the abs pump through the pedal like it should.

Yes, I think so. Although i hadn't really been anywhere in it apart from town.

I went to visit family who live out in the country and its quite a quick road and there was no traffic so i pushed on a bit, thats when i noticed it. I notice it all the time now.
