golf tdi buying advice / help

Hi all,

I my self have been into jap cars including hot hatches however with my new job I’m commuting 250+ miles a week. I do get a fuel allowance and my current car just drinks to much.

I’ve got a budget up to £2500 at a push more like £2000 I’m after a golf tdi but need advice…….. would like to know which model best suits my budget further more what options came with that particular model?

Also what are the service internals, and what to look out for when buying? Also do the engines take high mileage well?

I'd consider the other cars on the Golf platform as well, might represent better value. I'm not an expert on the TDI but my mate bro had a 110 TDI and did something like 160000 miles without too much trouble.
