As it says in the title really, Had a warning light come up on the dash that i have a rear brake light out. So i set to remove the light cluster but it won't budge after i removed the rear screw. Is there anything else that i need to do to remove it? Don't wanna give it to much force incase i break / damage anything.

Nope thats the only screw. Its just on rubber poppers on the wing. Either wiggle it up and down or get a screwdriver between the wing and the light and pry it towards the rear. Be careful not to damage the paint / slight cluster though.

DO NOT USE A SCREWDRIVER!!!

undo the screw and then push the tail end of the lamp away from the car i.e. on the O/S push it to the right, there should be sufficient play to make it move about 20/25mm

then, get your fingertips under the part of the lamp which sits along the rear wing and try and gently pull it away from the car (to the right) - it will be stiff if it's the first time it's been taken off the car

it will move about 3 or 4 mm

once it starts to pull away do the same to the top of the unit - again 3 or 4mm will be enough

then you can get your fingers behind the leading edge of the lamp to finally remove it

the unit will only come away to the side - it can't be removed by pulling it back from the car

TBH it's a really crap design that is difficult to do if you don't know how, the manual is fk all use

be careful as there's two lugs that sit in the wing and they look rather fragile

Thanks for the reply, i didn't fancy using the screwdriver. Hopefully i'll get a chance to do it in the morning. I will admit i asked Audi how much they would charge to replace it.
