Flashing Temperature Light Polo Mk 4
Discussion
Hi all.
I'm living in St. Anton in the Alps and when I turn on my car a 1.4 1996 Polo the temperature warning light starts flashing. Is this because it is -6 outside or is it an issue? The coolant level seems fine and the engine temp is fine too.
Could it be the coolant has frozen? I haven't got the owners manual with me so I can't check it.
Please help!

if your coolant level is above the min and the engine temp look fine the the sender inside the expansion bottle may have died or you have a fault with your dash clocks in which case it is usaully a earth.
one quick test would be to undo the sender from the expansion bottle and use a bit of wire to bridge the terminals an start the car up and see if it still flashes - if it still flashes it suggest a dash/earth problem.
