I'm considering getting the upgraded Haldex ECU for the R32. I've had a look on the R32oc.com site and the upgrade seems to get a universal "thumbs up".

Just a couple of questions:

1. can you recommend a reputable source / installer?

2. does anyone know the warranty implications? I don't really want to invalidate the warranty, given that the warranty has already picked up the cost of a new flywheel and clutch in the last few weeks...

Cheers all

This is a really useful site:

I think the one we sourced for a customer recently came through awesome GTI but certainly someone like Regal autosport would be able to source.

Maybe 1-1.5 hours to install?

Ive heard its a very simple install. Best done on ramps though.

Thank you for the comments - much appreciated.

I've followed Ranger's lead and called AmD. Very helpful and very reasonable labour rates for fitting. And they're only 30 mins away from me and open on a Saturday morning, so looks like a winner!

Are there any adverse effects of the "upgrade"? Does it impact significantly on mpg? Presumably rear tyre wear is a bit worse and front tyre wear a bit better?

Thanks again!

I think the warranty would be legally voided on any directly associated parts.

IMO suspension is the best place to start.

i went out in a manual mk5 r32 with coilovers (KW's) haldex controller and a remap, with the power sent to the rear it totally transforms the car! great bit of kit!

www.autops.co.uk every time!!

How old is the car? Most manufacturer warranties tend not to warrant any changed parts - some like Porsche as you will have read don't cover anything if you so much as connect anything to the vehicle.

No, sorry. I got rather disenchanted with the R32 so chopped it in for my M3 and haven't looked back.
