Hi just joined & read all about the trouble with the multitronic gearboxes. We purchased 2003 A6 Avant tdi last August 2009 and still the trader cannot rectify the returning problem, even though new clutch plates & ECU have been fitted. The automatic transmissions 'specialists' had the car for 3 weeks in July this year (third time in a year)and the juddering when pulling away started over 2 weeks ago, dangerous especially at roundabouts. Is it something they have done incorrectly? However as this had gone on long enough and we have been sold a car not of satisfactory quality, we have requested full refund of our purchase price.

They could have measured the spacers wrong when building up the clutch pack (its a bit complicated) Could have the wrong software in the ECU, ie 6 pack software with a 7 pack clutch. etc

Hopfully you can back the car and get your money back.
