I'm looking for a low mileage S6, 2000 or 2001, pref the Avant but would consider saloon also. I know about Autotrader (online & mag), Exchange & Mart and the Audi's own approved used site but not finding many like this advertised. Is there anywhere else ads would appear I should keep an eye on - maybe specialist Audi sites?

Yep - been to see them and they do have a good selection of performance Audis.
They have an Avant that fits the bill, but its silver (which next to yellow is my least favoured colour). And it smells of eau-de-dog.
They are hugely difficult to find because they are produced in such small numbers.
Most people either go 2.7T quattro or all the way to the RS6 seems the S6 falls into an unfortunate hole...
They're like hens's teeth aren't they. I've been looking for one for about six months but nothing in the right combination of condition/mileage/age/colour has come up yet. Thinking of maybe sticking out for as RS6 instead.
