Just called them and mentioned the email and pretty much without going into any detail they said they would put the payment on hold register a complaint and get someone to call me. - I guess they have had a lot of calls and just moving the cases on to the complaints team.

Sportaz did how did you get on?
They are sweving all responsibility, closing my complaint and sending you to the Ombudsman!

Is that what they said or is that what you are thinking is going to happen

Well I will wait for them to ring back and then write a letter of complaint - did they tell you when they are going to collect the payment as that was the reason I called but didnt get to ask the question.

The payment I believe will be taken on the first anniversary of your car. So I have been told.

I am not sure what it is for car leasing but for other complaints, dont the Ombudsman charge £500 to the company for every complaint they have to deal with? You would think it would be easier to just write this off - as I said before its the first time I have used Arval - depending on how they deal with this it might not have to be the last.

If you have had an email saying you are liable then it looks like you will have to pay. Stan if you have not then you are home and hosed.

I have had the email today but the car came in April 2023 - I have put together a complaint letter which I will send if I dont get a phone call on Tuesday

But suspect I will have to pay it and they will have to pay as I will go to the ombudsman

I've queried it and they put the payment on hold for now. But just got the same email as you today. Bit of a bugger like, but think we're just going to have to pay up.

Been through this kind of process a few times. Ask them for a definitive decision in writing, if they are not budging you then want a 'letter of deadlock' or a 'final formal response' from them so you can then go the Onbudsman. Worth copying the UK Fleet MD in as well to any emails Lakshmi.Moorthy@arval.co.uk

Going to the Onbudsman is now a £550 charge I believe and also does not reflect well on the company itself so if everyone impacted goes this route who knows, they might decide to avoid the Onbudsman complaints and just sort it given the cost isn't really any different.

I had a spell of running CEO complaints for large mobile phone retailer so fairly handy with complaining!

Anyone had their payment taken yet? - or any other updates - I havent had a call from them and am just back from holiday - they said they were registering a complaint and were going to call me back - I am going to leave it for a bit and see if they breach the timescales to acknowledge my complaint before I write to them
