Just had new short engine, still running in and noticed the low oil warning light does illuminate. Checked bulb, fine. Does anybody know where the sensor (if there is one) can be found?
Cheers
David
What does the oil pressure gauge read ? warning light comes on below around 7 psi.
The sensor is screwed into the oil filter housing, next to the sensor for the oil pressure gauge. Presumably the oil pressure warning light worked OK before the engine change so probably just a loose wire. On mine the light is earthed through the sensor so touching the wire to earth turns the light on
Oil pressure reads steady 45psi on the move. Light was fine prior to engine swap, I'll look for a loose wire now I know where the sensor is. Thanks Peter & Tim.
Thank
