afternoon fellas.
I have recently acquired me a Griff 500 non pas. But having had a 4.5 cerb before on the spiders i cant help but look at the standard 16/15 estorils on the griff and feel they are a little small. can anyone suggest a wheel and retailer in 17/18 region that fits without any brake or hub messing around. id rather put the estorils away safe and leave the car as stock otherwise. except maybe the odd exhaust thing

If you want Pro Race 1.2 wheels then try Halfords. Once you have convinced them you don’t want a wheel and tyre package for a corsa they seem to be able to order them at a reasonable price but you will need to know exactly what you want becase they won’t. It is worth considering the steel stud seat insert option for a few extra quid (they will have to phone and ask about that)
However before you order anything decide what tyres you plan to fit then find out what the optimum rim width is for that tyre. As the profile gets smaller the relationship between the rim and tyre is more important. Then check the overall width of the tyre and work out if it will fit in the arch with your proffered offset. If you want 18inch rims and want 245 width rubber you will probably need an 8 or 9 inch rim which is rather wider than the standard 7.5 so the exact offset to fit becomes very important.
It remains a mystery to me why it seems so popular to buy bigger rims when the car can be made to handle rather nicely on the standard ones and there is some very respectable rubber around in the original sizes to fit on them.
