The best day of the year....why the roof up??

Guys,

I think that I am turning into a grumpy old git. My Dad always had a converible when I was growing up and we were never allowed the roof up even if it was raining ("you dont get wet above 50mph"). I have somehow also been infected with the view that you should have the roof down whenever you can, however I do realise that not everyone shares this view.

However:

What I dont understand is why put up with the compromise of a convertible all year round if you drive it on the best day of the year with the roof up!

The culprits today:

BMW 3 series
Saab 93
Porsche 993
Mazda MX5
BMW Mini

I did believe saab drop tops did not work as I've seen so many and never had roof down, however just seen one taking rubbish to the tip!

What makes it worse with all the modern stuff you press 1 button and 10 secs later its down, so funny.

A lass at work is always topless.

They weren't TVR's! (My top has been down since Monday)

100% agree. I tell my family that when I rule the world, if the roof is up on a dry day, you get a warning then a ban.
The car gets donated to someone who appreciates it, at my discretion !
