Interior light in footwell
Discussion
I was trying to sorting some dash light probs (now sorted) and found that there is a dome light in the passenger foot well. Its the same type as the interior light fitted to the roof hoop.
Do they all have this?
Are either interior lights supposed to operate on door opening? Mine don't which I prefer anyway.

IIRC most Griffs have them... set it so that it comes on with the main light is probably the best option.

A dome light in the passenger's footwell, Dusty? You are the Chosen One. Nothing in mine 'cept a bloody big battery that forces tall passenger's knees up under their chin.
Its tucked just underneath the glove box out of view. Have a feel around.
I notice someone has sprayed there name to the bare GRP of my dash too. A different name to that in the boot.

Thanks. Looked to good to be anything but original.
but...![]()
The main light doesent come on with the doors either though!
Someone before probably made this mod to stop flat batteries. Saves me the trouble.
er... not turned off is it..?
Wouldn't surprise me if the connectors were a bit flakey or oxidised... take the lamp out and give the contacts a good clean. Might also be worth checking the bulb is OK before you start looking for a problem that might not be there...
nope not off.
3 position switch just like the main terior light, however only 2 operations work on either light which is on or off. No door activation.
Door switches work fine (alarm tells me this) so I reckon the wires are probably just pulled of the back of the lights.
They can stay that way too since I never use them.
Why the footwell light anyway? Just to prove how little room there is for the passenger?!
