ACT + V8D + Mark Adams + Austec = POWER!
Discussion
Took the Griff for a tuning session with Mark Adams at Austec Racing in Crawley, primarily to fit a new Bosch airflow meter but also to fit the ACT silicon hose from the meter to the filter (the TVR one is naff, and mine was seriously impeding airflow).
Bear in mind that my car already has a V8 Development P404 cam, ACT twin-throttle plenum, larger Bosch injectors etc, so was already going fairly well, but
Bugger me...!
It picked up another 20BHP and 30lb/ft! Just those two modifications; 1) an inexpensive airflow meter from Mark and 2) an inexpensive silicon hose from ACT. Now it absolutely flies - to the point where it's almost scary
The guys at Austec are great, true perfectionists, and dedicated - we were still working on the car at 9:30 on Friday night - and Mark Adams really is a genius (even with fat injectors and that performance it did 240 miles on a tank-full of standard unleaded).
My advice, if you don't want to go all the way with a new cam and carbon plenum, at least try a silicon airflow hose from ACT - for that extra torque you'd be mad not to.
Well and truly in the 300BHP club.

I had the first ACT silicon AFM(Bosch) to front filter hose fitted to my Griff and in my case (and also Starmist's) it has a problem.
The bonnet now has to be forced down to close and this results both in the hose being squashed by the bonnet's leading edge( possibly affecting the very airflow it was designed to improve?) and the bonnet being forced across to the right side ( to the extent that there is now almost no gap between bonnet and R wing).
I'm concerned about the resulting pressure on what is a fairly simple bonnet locking mechanism!
I have past my concerns to Rich at Peninsula who fitted said hose and am awaiting their/ACT's feedback and fix.

This is strange, i checked with Austec yesterday who have fitted 3 of these, all fited without a problem i.e not rubbing on or being squashed by bonnet, so i don't have much to go on, I am aware that if you have the triple plenum or early type twin the meter is in a different position which requires a modification to the hose, but that doesn't apply to yours,
if you email me some pictures, phone me or get Richard to phone me when he has the car with him we can see what the problem is, crearly something isn't right, i am sure it will be a simple solution , maybe the tube needs cutting down a tad, This is not the norm though, have sold loads.

I have to say in tims defence i have fitted these hoses to standard plenums with no problems and today fitted one to a triple plenum, spent an hour making a bracket to fit the new airflow meter but was very impressed overall, infact my earlier post says how good they fit i am confused??? there are two different types do you have the right one tiny? i have just changed one for that very reason....
This is why i need to see pictures really, Penisula have only fitted this one and it came straight from the factory so they have nothing to compare with, they now have both types in stock, the early type is very different ( fits Griffs with cylinder filter) and would be just about impossible to fit to a late car.
