Spares advice

Hi all,

I am taking my Griff on a 1500 mile trip, from Santander home (hence not making it to the Growl) and wondered what the achiles heal(s) of the Griff are.

If you were going, what parts would you take also are there any common tools I should take (I would guess at imperial rather then metric???)

Also I get my Surrey roof next week, just in time for the trip, I can actually use my boot, I can't wait!,

Spares: Bulb kit, fuses (including a couple of spare 100A fuses!) a serp belt a handful of faston crimp connectors and a couple of spare bits of wire.

Tools: Small screwdriver/socket set thingy and a crimp tool (or pliers if you get desperate!) A 15mm spanner is a must for changing the serp belt.

Hi Mark, I think the non-serp belt is what you need.

Yes... Missed that one - saw the M plate and thought it would be one of the first Serps.

Sorry, I should have pointed that one out. My Europa went through a period of breaking belts every 80miles ive got into the habit of carrying a spare 2 or 3!
Am I right in thinking
all of the engine bolts etc are imperial?

Just as nearly all chassis is imperial, then loads of metric in the body fittings, odd exceptions like metric bolts on the bolt-in engine stay, hose clips, plenum...?

Spare 70A ign relay and a couple of twin make/break relays suffice as spares to cover all the critical relays, spare fuses should be in the fuse box (you can put the spare relays in empty locations in the fusebox as well).

Throttle cable or repair section & extra tyre weld are in my boot.
