Estorils – unusual finish

I’m looking to have a set of Estorils refurbished with a finish which appears bright and shiny when viewed head on in bright sunlight but as the contours of the wheel curve away the colour changes and gets darker. This isn’t the two stage “black chrome” effect (silver sprayed over gloss black), it’s a single coat finish. I’ve seen it on a set of wheels in Halfords under the name “Nurburg”. I have seen a set like this on a Griff and was told Pristine Wheels had done them, but when I went there they said they had never done this type of finish. Does anyone know of a firm that can do it? Interesting response. If I had some pics it sort of follows that I would have found what I was looking for. Unless of course you want a pic of some scruffy standard Estorils? Can't see the point of that though. Clever graphic though, if not such a clever response.

As you said the above it was possible that you did have a picture.......

This is the one I saw but as you can see, you can't appreciate the effect from a photo so just a waste of PH server space.



To get the effect you need to see the wheel in sun light and see how the light is reflected off it. I'm going S&D next week so I'll see what they say.

There is a guy in Suffolk I have used for several different sets of wheels with different finishes. From 60's diamond cut Cosmo wheels, Saab boggo standard, to funny colours on a set of Mazda stuff. He has tackled Spiders for a friend and the results were superb, although a standard colour.

Nothing seems to phase him, if you are preparde to travel I can give you his details. Just make sure the bugger writes it all down when you drop them off, otherwise he has to do them twice!
