Water ingress behind drivers seat

Just got my Griff back on the road, and just in time for the weather to turn! /

The recent rain has caused a pool of water behind the drivers seat. I sat in the passenger seat trying to figure out how the water was getting in, since all the other carpets were dry. I just happened to look behind the elephant ear panel that hides the door locking mechanism to see a drip of water falling inside the wing. I managed to get my arm up inside the wing and could feel water dripping from what I think (by feel) is the fibre glass moulding for the T-bar door opener. I've filled all the velcro rivets with sealant so the water isn't getting through those.

So, it seems water is getting in via the aluminium T-bar door opener mechanism. Has anyone else had this problem and resolved it? I've already tried pushing grease down the T-bar shaft, but this doesn't seem to have made any difference. Is there another typical water ingress point? The water is definately getting in in the area of the T-bar.

Quite often the water proofing on the material of the hood at the side (between the back of the door glass edge and the rear window edge) starts to break down and water wicks through. I had this very problem and never fully resolved it but a liberal dose of Fabsil on the outside certainly helped.

Alternatively you could leave it and start a mushroom farm!

When I had a puddle behind my drivers seat, it was water working down rear part of the door seal and emptying into the cabin at the bottom. It turned out that one of the flattened bits at the bottom of the door seal wasn't flattened enough and preventing water from going out.

Ha! Maybe I could stop in a layby and sell them next to the guy selling strawberrys!?
I guess you can't rule anything out, but the roof fabric was Fabsil'd just a couple of weeks ago so I'm pretty sure the water isn't getting through there.

I had read about that before, but the carpets around the edge of the door (next to the seal) are all dry. In fact all the carpets are dry. I seems that water is just appearing in the space behind the drivers seat.

The thing is, I have actually seen the water dripping down inside the wing which is presumably then being channelled between the floor and carpet. Maybe there are meant to be drain holes in the bottom of the wing ? I still need to check this. I'm convinced water is getting in at the point of the door T-button, but I don't know if this is normal ofr not ?

can't help you with your door buttons, cos mine are under the mirror. But I can say that the carpet on the side felt dry..... The giveaway for me was a tiny bit of water on the doorseal itself.
