Are these readily avaliable or are they now obsolete ? I was under the impression they were like hens teeth.

You used to be able to get a kit to paint the lenses and fit brighter bulbs. Demon tweaks and the like may still sell them.

They came of the Cavalier GSi IIRC... and possibly other "performance" Cav's...

If you want some, I know where I can get some.

I thought the smoked rear lenses were fitted as standard to all Cavaliers after about 1993/4, not just the hot ones?

Anyone got a picture ? Do they look alright or would you need to buy a fake Burberry baseball cap to go with them.... ?

My Griff had smoked front and rear lenses when I bought it - pix here

Thanks Sgirl. They look quite good actually. Also like the sticker numberplate on the front of yours. Have been considering doing that on mine.

Will have to put off the purchase of my Burberry cap then

I prefer them personally. But then I was the one who got the slating on the Chim forum for suggesting Lexus-style festa lights on a chimaera

Still think they both look good but many in the TVR world are not supportive of changing the original design it seems.

SGirl's car they really suit with the dark features. Think they would look good on yours too actually mel.

You can also remove the amber indicator filter, replace the bulb with an amber one and they look better still. Then you can modify to have four side lights and then four brake lights, mine are LED but you can do it with bulbs.

Why not replace the indicator bulbs with a chrome one that flashes amber...?

Philip SilverVision are the mirror bulbs which flash amber. We have these for the front indicators so you don't get the egg effect.

The posh Philips are a tad expensive and as you can not see the orange bulbs in the rear, not really needed. I use LEDs front and rear, absolutely no colour and last 11 years ! Very expensive though to buy.
