Track rod end boots and steering rack gators

All,

Couple of questions- rubbers on track rod ends have perished but other than thar - in good nick, anyone know where I can get replacement boots?

Secondly - gators / boots on steering rack need replacing - want to try and replace without having to take off track rod ends - any thoughts on if there are specifics I should buy for these or if it's even possible

Not sure if you can get new rubbers for track rod ends. For what they cost i`d stick some new ones on. As for the steering rack gators i struggled with mine, 1992 pre cat, with the usual tvr suppliers, couldnt get them large enough diameter at the rack end. I suggest taking yours off and measuring the diameters at either end and then ring TVR Power or similar and see what they have got that will match. Dont just buy their manual rack ones as they probably wont fit as mine didnt. Gators on ebay usually give dimensions. I think there have been quite a few different racks over the years and this is the problem. If all else fails there is always the universal ones.

Track rod ends are Ford Escort Mk.2 i think.

Hilton and Moss, Stanstead fixed mine for my power steered Griff 500. Power steering racks require a slightly different fitting.
