4.3 ventilation-retro air con fit.

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone has done any upgrades on a 4.3 pre serp Grif?
I've been doing a few longer trips and haven't been able to have the roof down, it's been pretty warm inside even with the blower on.
Anyone fitted the second footwell blower?
I'd prefer to retro fitted air con and if so does the alternator have to be repositioned or can it be replaced with the serp one with the AC bracket built in? Can you use the same system from the 500 serp engine with mods?

There were some underbonnet pics posted recently of a pre-serp with a/c which would surely be easier to stick to in the engine bay? The evaporator install might be tricky or difficult to make efficient as the pre-cats arent the same in this area,whereas the 500's heater box is very easy to convert.You might also struggle to mount the condensor as it sits under the radiator and i'm not sure how deep the recess is on a pre-cat?
as for the 500 booster blower,Ballistic Bannana used to have a great pic of his inside the inner wing which would help explain the install. Good luck and let us know how you get on,particularly with the a/c.

my old 4.3 had the optional drivers footwell blower


it does help keep you cool but was noisy in operation so only used it rarely

retro fitting AC might be a bit of a game and I'd suggest also fitting a 500 fan and heater box while you're there as the pre-serp fan location is rubbish
