Just got quote from Peart Associates for my 98 Griff.
I have 2 yrs NCD and an IN10 which cost me 6 points, albeit nearly 5 years ago, £568 which is £3 more than Mannings.
Has anybody used both? Is there any difference between the two and which one is best?

Grouch.

I use Mannings and have no complaints (but have not needed to claim) - however they were very good during the Independent Insurance bankrupcy.

Your quote seems good, compared with what I pay for a 96 Griff, 3k/yr mileage, full NCD and only a 3pt SP60.

What was the Independant Insurance Bankruptcy?
Those quotes are not bad, seems my renewal quote from Tescos was £1025.

Right I'm off to Le Mans.

Independent went tits up a few years ago leaving lots of motorists without cover and out of pocket. Luckily I'd moved my policy elsewhere the previous year due to a sudden rise in their premiums.
Apparently their Finance Director didn't know where half the money was, and there was a French connection too I think - perhaps someone in the industry can fill in the details?

I have stuck with Mannings even though I got a slightly lower quote elsewhere. They coped with the Independent problems in a very professional way and I would like to think that in the event of a claim they would be equally supportive. I also like the fact that you get the impression they know a bit about the cars, not the case when you speak with a 14year old in a call centre.
