Would you buy a Cat C ???

Hi chaps, trawling ebay and have come across a cat c griff. Chap has had it for 6 years. Has had body of repair with photographs . Not viewed yet but looks nice on pictures . Advice please chaps on price and pitfalls ! Ita a 98s with 40k on it ?

My first Griff was a 'double' write off, but at £5900 it was a good insight to my TVR days.

Depends on price, and find out what happened, who repaired it etc etc

I bought a Cat 'C' V8S a couple of years ago for Pin money. It was OK ,but it had been rebuilt by the the seller. Fine i thought , Er mm it wasn't the best rebuild in the world. Not saying he hasn't made a great job , Pictures are very deceiving . You've got about an hour on the Auction and it's up for top money for a Damaged Griff . Dare i say it Griff prices are in Free fall at the momtent. So is it worth a punt ? maybe...... i wouldn't at that price ,waits to be flamed .

ETA There is nothing wrong with a Damaged TVR at the wright Price of course.

I was looking at that aswell, thought it was top money for a cat c, didnt bid, but still looking !!

I bought a Cat C and i feel i got a bargain,
without the price drop i would not have been able to afford a 500 chim
no chassis damage and low mileage and very happy.
the decision was made on the condition of the car and an inspection
what swung it for me was the thought of paying 25 % more for a non cat car,
and then someone driving into the back of me on the way home and ending up with a cat C car anyway

i bought a cat c chim a few years back and guess what, on the way back some numpty run into the back of me at a roundabout,i had it repaired and ran it for two years with no trouble at all, only sold it due to family etc, and the new owner was more than happy with it,if its the right price and has a engineers report
why not buy it
