Quick question - Coolant type

Hi,
I will be refilling my coolant tonight (following my radiator replacement thread) and wanted to know if this coolant was OK for Griffs:

It is the same colour (pink/red) as the stuff that came out when I removed the old rad but that is about as far as my coolant knowledge goes.

No,and its also best not to mix OAT types of coolant (that is) with conventional regular types either,this one is far more suitable http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/... personally I use Vauxhall's own brand red 5 year because its very reasonably priced and I get it in bulk,any branded 5 year coolant is more than ample for the RV8 IMHO

I have just put the red g40 in. I looked at the g48 one but it is green in colour and mine had red coolant in before (I was working on the theory you don't mix colours). In fact given Halfords selection they have two red ones which are both OAT or green ones such as the g48 and their own brand.
Should I be draining the coolant system again in the morning now? Ah well, £30 down the drain (literally) what with the distilled water too.
Also, if the OAT coolant should not be in does that mean I need to really flush the system out as when I filled it up only 10 litres was required. The handbook said 12 so I guess 2 litres was hiding somewhere in the system.

Tim I would imagine at such small concentrations it should not be a problem especially if the old coolant was knackered or diluted you may have the equivalent of a cup full of pure regular/old coolant in that 2 litres still left in the system

It only had the 12k service 3 weeks ago and if 2 litres was left in the system when I refilled then potentially 1/2 to 1 litre of non OAT coolant could have been in the system - I will email the garage to find out what was in it. I would rather pour it all away again if the OAT stuff is going to cause some damage to the water pump or radiator. I guess I will also need to flush the system out completely if I am switching back to non OAT now OAT is in. How many times does the system need to be filled then drained to ensure the old stuff is out? I am getting fed up of pulling hoses and being covered in antifreeze now.
