The engine loom is a land rover part, because of that it has a fair few wires which are not needed and is rather generous on length at the ECU end. The one I took out of mine even had the original land rover part tag on it. If you route about in the foot well you may find one on yours. If making a new one it would perhaps make more sense to make one specifically for the Griff. When you think about what is needed it is not really that complex a bit of wiring.
The difficult bit will probably be tracking down the connector which joins it to the body loom under the dash or centre consol depending on where it was stuffed on your car.

Tracking down the brown and white multiblock connectors is a difficult task and also the bulkhead bund it goes thru is rare as well.
I had a complete replacement loom made for mine and BB's at the same time when I put the Emeralds in. There is pic somewhere on Griffith Pages I think that shows the sheer difference in quality, surplus wiring, crappy corrugated section stuff and a professionally made aircraft grdae loom.
Not cheap and we re-used the multiblock's and bungs from our own cars to do it, but certainly a great modification to the car.
Neater engine bay, wiring I trust implicitly, opportunity to spec it for additional items if you want too etc etc . . . Without doing the Emerald I would probably have done it anyway.

I had a second hand loom I picked up about 2 years back (about £100) so now in the process of totally rewiring the engine bay as with 250k on the clock the wiring has seen better days and continually causing me grief. Decided on 3 connectors back into the car - left side of engine, middle and right side. No real reason, may help diagnostics in the future. Also rerouting cables to avoid major heat source items.

Went the MS route and built a loom from scratch.
The rubber grommet was impossible to find, and I ended up using a boat part (the kind of bung they use to pass rudder mechs. through).
A lot of surplus wiring in the Rover loom, a photo of my new part before I fitted the ECU plug is shown below:
And the (nearly) finished install of the MS shown below:
With distributor ditched and (homemade = wonky) coil packs mounted in the engine bay:
Believe it or not (I couldn't) it started pretty much first turn of the key, but still needs a bit of fettling (probably on a rolling road).
But as I had already predicted, the clutch has started to slip, so I have a brand new one waiting in the garage to fit - definately not looking forward to that job.....

Hi there, try 'Autosparks' http://www.autosparks.co.uk/. The can make up almost any car loom and are very reasonable. Had a loom made up for my 1990 Land Rover, they come with all the right connectors also. Give them a call, they are helpful people. Also note they do many of the connectors used in vehicles separately, I often stock up on essential wiring items. All teh best, Pete
