Back to the Fold ?

Well I have had a nearly new Chim 4.5, a 3 yr old cerb (that cost me a fortune to repair - 13K in 2 yrs)and so I bought an Impreza P1 and paid off some debts.
Anyway - the P1 is ok but not my cup of tea.
So I reckon I might go for a Griff - even though I swore I wouldnt buy another TVR again.
So is a 6 yr old Griff an ok everyday car - I doubt it. But should be able to get one for a little more than the value of the impreza.
That rover v8 burble, those griff curves, that TVR smell.... I cant resist much longer.

If you have a very long or a very short commute then I'd say not... but like they say, the more they're driven, the better they are.

Lots of people here do use a Griff every day.

Overall my Griff was not a good everyday car. It broke down too often, I worried about where it was parked, I paid through the nose in fuel bills. I'd only have another as a weekend car.

edited to say - and I would have another, if I had £5k a year to budget for it.

I Have a Smart Passion to go to work in when it's raining or to go out in when we want to leave it somewhere dodgey......... outside the pub on Sat night I then have a Griff 500 to go to work in when it's sunny and for fun on the eves and weekends, this works for me

I had a Griff for ages before the cerb, it was utterly brilliant. They are great daily drivers, more relaxed than a cerb and should be cheaper to run if you pick well.

I used to use my Griffith everyday around London. It didn't like, didn't break, but just didn't like slow moving traffic and warm summers.

Never actually overheated etc etc but when I moved out to the sticks again and it was 32 mile round trip everyday it liked that !

But, you need to warm it up in the mornings if you are 3 mins form the motorway as I was, a real pain in the morning and does not indeer (sp) you to the neighbours, so I bought a £400 Polo. It's tatty, smells a bit, scrathched all over and I just had to do the head gasket, but apart from that no issues.

It cost 1.5days of my time and £100 in beer tokens to get through the MOT and that's all I've paid for motoring to work, the dump, shopping and general knocking about. It's been to Norfolk and then onto Blackpool at Xmas etc etc ..

I have halfed the fuel bill to work, I have reduced the servicing costs (25,000 miles in 14 months) and it scares other drivers to keep away from it and let you out in traffic !!

That way I know keep the Griffith to be enjoyed and a runaround for the boring stuff.

I have also got over the "I must have a nice car to look as good as the rest in the queue " now I don't care is it's cheap and I know I have a beatutiful at home and I'm not tiring it out everyday.
