MOT emissions test.

Hi All.
Put my Griff in for the annual worry of the MOT, which I am glad to report passed with no advisories. But it only just scraped through on the emissions test! The tester ran it through a few times before we got a pass. My question is, is there any way of adjusting the mixture slightly to make it a bit leaner snd hopefully help the emissions, or is it a job for a professional on a RR?
I have a brand new PiperX cross filter fitted and full ACT induction kit as well, plus all Cats are fittted (as far as I know)
Any advice on this would be appreciated.

Which part of the test was it failing on ? tell us the numbers off the printout.

I only have the figures for the PASS cert, but they are as follows.

Fast Idle 2500-3000rpm
CO - 0.012%
HC - 13ppm
Lambda - 1.030

Natural Idle. 450-1500rpm
Co - 0.467

I think it was the lambda test that was failing.

Sounds like a small air leak or exhaust leak somewhere.

Assuming your car has catalysts, the mixture is not adjustable in any way, and as long as everything is in order like good plugs, HT, no air leaks, a clean catalyst and good lambda probes the ECU should be controlling it correctly.
