whats the scariest thing about owning a Griff...?
Discussion
...after a whole month with a 500 Griff, in no particular order, mine are;
1. Spending £80/week on petrol without doing any necessary journeys whatsoever
2. Neglecting to put 4 new tyres on straight away (despite the dire warnings of the guy I bought it from)
3. Replacing the oil pressure sender and doing a "temporary" job on the connections
4. Starting to think 'a bit more power might not be a bad thing'
Number 1 just means more Nectar points
Number 2 brings the excitement of breaking traction in third gear on anything other than a completely dry surface!!
Number 3 doesn't sound too bad - just wanted to get back on the road quick, so lashed the new sender in, thinking I'd tidy the wiring up over Winter. Unfortunately wire came adrift during an enthusiastic drive down the backroads. No oil pressure reading - dohh!
Number 4 flashed through my mind shortly after the oil pressure fell to zero - following an extremely logical thought process; zero oil pressure = engine rebuild = Taraka?

3. Thinking of your Outriggers getting soaked on a wet road
4. Cursing Loudly " Which Muppet decided that the battery would be buried I'n the passengers footwell "
5 . The crap headlamps
6. No bootlight
7 . Trying to put the roof I'n the boot
8 . Cursing yet again as you try to change the Fuel Filter

Have you tried keeping the lights on whilst you go in the boot??
I have no answers to the remaining points apart from scuffed knuckles and ever tightening clacker valve.
On the way home the other night ...
Dark road + crap lights + lots of surface water = hitting a large puddle which filled the windscreen and sent me aquaplanning ....oh did I mention the car coming the other way that I could barely see....
Scariest moment so far :-) and ended up driving a little more cautiously afterwards.
