Griff Growl and TVR Gathering 2004
Discussion
The bookings at present are pants so please get your booking in asap. It is mega value at just £15 which includes unlimited entry over the weekend into the museum and £30 per person for the hotel. How much better value can it be????
There were 35 names in the calendar so assume 35 cars - it has been advertised on the TVRCC web site and in Sprint (heads up initially and booking form in the June edition) and we have half this number. I don't get it.

Please get your bookings in asap as we need to confirm details and with the current numbers there isn't enough to justify the event.

I always said I would come up for the Sunday and I will. Presumably you have negotiated a discount off the usual daily entry price for TVRCC members if we show our membership card? Rich...
Hi Rich
You get entry to the museum all weekend in with the price (£15 per person). You can then go in and out of the museum as many times as you like. It's a bit more than just showing your TVRCC card and we need you to book in advance sweetie so that you get your wrist band and other bits and boobs.

Apologies but my wife has booked a girls weekend in Whitley Bay so I am left, literally, holding the baby. If it was a bit closer I'd bring Gabby with me, but I think it's a bit far for a 15 month old in an open top Griff on the M1
Just keep under your hat

and the silly hat puns go on
As said before gutted i am unable to make it as on a Stag weekend

The Growl was a great idea, originally, but first I heard that it was open to other models (bad idea), and now the TVRCC have got involved and are expecting a payment of £15 !
Having been to Gaydon twice before (to see the sheds my Grandad drove etc etc) I don't want to cruise the museum again, and £15 is a lot to just to park and chat.
I can see why the idea has turned sour for some!

The original straw poll was that is was a good idea to have a more structured event and over a weekend so it was more than just kicking tyres and going home again. It would also allow a social event on the Saturday evening to get to know each other better.
Personally Mrs FFG and I have spent a considerable amount of our own time and incurred signinficant expense driving to Gaydon and making hundreds of phone calls so we certainly don't want to have wasted this effort.
We said we would give it a go and if it wasn't successful we would revert to the original format but this will never attarct the numbers.
The event is still Griff focussed and the original idea was to get the most Griffs ever seen in one place. If this doesn't do it then I guess it will never happen again.
The £15 was a figure set by us to recoup some of the parking area costs and includes a weekend unlimited entry into the museum and a commemorative gift (numbers permitting). It was not set by the TVRCC.
I still belive that £15 for 2 days is great value compared to some other events.
Apologies if we haven't been able to please everyone but this will never happen.
