Got some Nitron's to re-work (20K on them in top condition but 15 years old so needs re-gassing etc) so may as well take the opertunity to get some good springs on them... Where is the best place to buy Eibach (best being cheapest!)... and what rates would people suggest for normal / fast road use without turning it into a spine jolter!....
I have Powerflex bushes fitted if that makes any odd's... biggrin

John I have Nitrons on my car as you know and the Eibachs where supplied by Nitron themselves.
I assume you're having them rebuilt by Nitron and you'll be amazed how good they come back, almost like new.

Obviously there is a huge range of adjustment in the shocks themselves and the ride can be very tailored by the adjustment. I'm not 100% sure what the spring weights are on my car but I've seen several threads in the past but due to the lousy search in here these days I can only find the one below, differing suggestions (as always biggrin)

Probably not a good example, and you are confusing the confusion about F/R R/F rates with the discussion about rates wink

try:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/search4.asp?h=0...

I had some funky springs made with initial rates of 440/380 rising to 600/450 at full compression, and tailored to suit the suspension travel whilst still maintaining preload on the damper seats wink Telling you the progessive loading would be giving the game away.

F1 quality & still only £100 a set custom made if you can spec them!!!!

The first one in your search was the thread I was looking for but my searches with exactly the same key words you used only threw up the one I posted.... frown

John.

I run 450/400.

When adjusted to lower damping settings, they don't actually feel that hard and feel about right for fast road use. Obviously they then get cranked up for the track.

Before this set of springs I ran standard + 20% as recommended by Joo, those springs worked very well on the road and not bad for the occasional T/D as standard springing rates are too soft!

It all depends what you want, we all think we are ace drivers but in reality, most of our driving on roads is as fast as the traffic allows, not very fast and nothing like a track!

375 / 300 or 375 / 325 may be best.... or may be 400 / 325??

Are Eibach worth the money?.. or will other springs be as good?... AB Shocks were getting some from Europe?.. any feedback....

John,
400/325 is what we went with when they were rebuilt about 18 months back. Also upgraded to Eibach springs.
Car is solid and no complaints from Mrs FFG so can't be that bad.

Nitron put ours on during the refurb so no idea how competitive they are, just wanted to make sure they were the cvorrect ones. Were about £80 each off the top of my head but don't quote me.
