Just like to say hello to all.

Like most new people I have spent the last month looking at the recent topics and searching for infomation before posting my first request.

I am currently re-building a 4.0 Grif (1992), I believe it to be quite an early example. Is there any way I can tell how early from the chassis number etc, is there a production list somewhere??

Next, I noticed that someone was kind enough to post a URL for an adobe parts list - would anyone be kind enough to mail me a copy (see profile) or tell me how to get hold of it, it would really help during the re-build.......................thanks Paul.

If you call the factory with your chassis/engine numbers etc then they will be able to give you some history about the car. Exactly how much depends on the circumstances (they seem reluctant to release service information to anyone other than the owner at the time of the service etc).

For certain they should be able to tell you precise details of the build timing etc.

If you have any service information with the car such as receipts etc, then you may well get more history from the dealer/independent. again this depends on who you end up talking to.

Good luck!

Oh - why the rebuild? Is it knackered, in need of a good seeing to, or crash damaged?

Welcome to the family. And if there is a *.pdf partslist I wouldn't mind having it.

Cheers Fred

The Parts List was in reference to an earlier 'string' I searched for "Julian64 - 4th June 2003" in which it looks as if there was something 'electronic' around (I might of made up the adobe bit!). I will be contacting Ballistic Banana and hopefully it's the same thing.

AngusFaldo - It's all 3 really, knackered - seeing too - and crashed. I bought the car from universal salvage in late 2002, must of been light roll or at least in a ditch. The car was 'hydrauliced' with oil on top of the pistons proving the above. It's definately a 'home brew' resoration, the o/s front wing was split and cracked, windscreen posts snapped and both bottom wishbones bent.

I have replaced all lower front suspension, fixed the wing and bonded in windscreen surround along with a multitude of other electrical probs and I am respaying more of the car this weekend. Pics will follow - hope to be on the road August 2004!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome.
This is THE place for getting information and advice of any sort.
We do a nice line in tyres, exhaust systems, marital, holiday, speeding, govenrment, oh and a few car purchasing threads too!

Oh and occasionally we meet up and get drunk together, obviously leaving the cars at home or having designated drivers who sacrifice themselves on our behalf! Or we sit around drinking coke and lemonade!

Hope you will share your trials and tribulations with us all. Photos are good!

Mrs FFG (I'll e-mail this evening)and DustyC - I've got the last week in July and 1st in August off as Hols - planning to play with Grif as much as I can get away with - so a meet bang in the middle would be perfect for me.

Now all I've got to do is persuade my better half that a romantic weekend break in the Midlands is what she deserves for all her understanding in the past when I've been neglecting her with my head under the bonnet.

Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a look at the hotel website, there's plenty of places to visit in the Midlands, and loads of good roads too.

I wrote to the factory asking for info on my Griff, included all info + S.A.E. but they did'nt bother to reply :, time was you could phone and they would do their best to resolve questions.

You have to include £35.25 as well!
