Hello folks. See pic of my 11 year old vac advance unit. See crack in hardened brittle diaphragm. (After 11 yrs of heat its not surprising!) detected by sucking air through plenum tube lead. Sometimes perhaps causing stalling at traffic lights(lean mix?) Now seems ok with new Clev Trev vac. No stalling to date at stops, but rpm drops to 600 (Rich mix?)before recovering to normal 900rpm stepper mix.
On road, no significant rocket acceleration or fuel consumption, compared with old caput vac. Will pick up from 1200rpm in 5th gear with no evident preignition. Perhaps this is not so easy to detect on a V8 as a 4 or a 6 OR IS IT?...............My Icons don't work with Vista. Cheers anyway.
