New Shoes Toyo Proxies

Now I know this is an old topic
I recently reviewed my tyres after reading about lives lost due to aged tyres
Well the tyres on the griff were in fact 10 and 12 years old , it's reccomended they are changed at 6 as a minimum
Well got them changed , the old Bridgestones binned and now in toyos
The car is transformed without doubt , the ride effect is just so perfect
Front 24 lbs rear 26 lbs
Best thing I have ever done , even beats when I added the Gaz golds on the Cerbera some years ago
For all you not concerned , You should be as driving the wife and odd occasion the daughter around at well 70 mph is just dam right silly , the tyres are potential killers .
Would you risk it , imagine loosing the wife , your loved ones , or god for bid your CAR

Cannot agree more , did the same in the summer, nice new set of Toyos, got rid of the hard old Bridgestones - what a difference. PeteI recently reviewed my tyres after reading about lives lost due to aged tyres

My old hardened rubber (previous owner) 11 yr old Bridgestones were tramlining to death row. Changed for new all round £70 Nexens (MyTyres Co)are now a revelation for safe fast driving. Tread pattern is also a good looker.

What size/speed rating did you go for matey. I looked at Nexens a while back, couldn't find the right combination. Edited by EGB on Friday 2nd December 00:24

Anyone driving around on 10 year old rubber needs to get out more. Tyres on these cars should never last that long if driven the way they were intended. So no excuses!!
My old Bridgestone SO2s got wiped out on a couple of 'parade laps' at Rockingham a couple of years ago. The MOT man the following weak asked me if I'd been on a track day.
But all joking aside, I've gone onto Toyo T1R now. Great Tyres.

Hi Doc, got mine last summer from Camskill Tyres, both sizes in stock and delivered to your door for very little -http://www.camskill.co.uk/m53b0s289p1673/TOYO_TYRE...
Got my local friendly tyrefitter to put them on.
Regards, Pete

I have not considered how old my tyres are, I bought my V8S 18 months ago, I have no idea how old my tyres are, is there a marking on the tyre to indicate when they were made?
As an earlier post said, I do reguarly drive with one of the kids in the car, and for the cost of a new set of tyres, I would never forgive myself, if one let go through being too old.
I take it the MOT doesn't pick up on tyre age?
Thanks
Andy
