I go to start the beast tonight and the rudee battery's flat . So I gain access by ripping the rest of the rear window stitching undone .

Why the TVR Boffins decided that the passenger footwell was the best place to bury the battery is beyond me ???
Utter pain I'n the A and my knackered knees to try and connect jump leads .

Has anyone moved the battery to the boot ? Any pics ? Where does it fit ? Near the fuel tank ? What happens if some muppet rear ends me ?

Yes it can be done, the battery in my Chim is now in the boot. I did it mainly for leg room for passengers. There will be others along who can explain how to do it, as I just got Track v Road to do mine. Most I have seen mount the battery where the CD changer goes on most, above the fuel tank, mine is to the side. It is mounted in a cage like on a race car to ensure it is secure and in an accident can't be forced against the fuel tank. I also used a much smaller gel battery. Hope that helps.

Just a thought as i have no measurements but as some people have obvious concerns about the battery being in the boot is there not room for one of the small type batteries to go in the recess behing the drivers seat.

C of G I think. Plus with a battery in the boot I'm pretty sure you won't get the hood in.

Best way to get to it is push the car out of the garage and approach from the passenger side.

The car is away at the moment so no pictures, one battery behind each seat a bit like the MGB set up.
The batteries are 185 mm x 170 mm x 79 mm and rated at 17 amps with 220 cold cranking amps each

I moved the battery to the boot this summer along with an ECU conversion. Mused for a while over the battery + fuel tank scenario, but on reflection, if it's secured well enough and covered with a decent thickness fibreglass box, it should be safe.

I have mounted it above the tank, inbetween the two speakers and reinforced the area to secure in place.

Moving it to the boot gives the passenger a bit more leg room in the event of a (more likely) front end collision. Will take a couple of photos over the weekend if you like?

I just fitted a trickle charger lead as received in the kit with the charger, it stays in the engine compartment. I leave it on charge all the time and disconnect when using the car. You can easily access the connection and the bonnet only just needs to be up a tad. Never failed to start, and always plenty of power. Something to consider if putting battery in the boot, the long run of cable with it's associated 'volt drop' could affect the cranking current in the cold winter months! You are advised to use as large a CSA as possible say 50mm2 (though in other classic cars I have found 35mm2 satisfactory), and make it out of flexible multistrand (we use welding cable for our special trucks at work), and ensure good solid connections.
