Griff fairings

I’m thinking of removing the fairings on the Griff. The seal has broken at some point and condensation as a result has left the paintwork in there looking a tad untidy. Now, everyone tells me not to try this myself but I’m thinking that if I can’t do it then I can always take it in somewhere to have it done properly, it’s not like I can’t drive it without the fairings on.

So anyone done this themselves ?
Is it possible to set the covers in place without removing the headlights ?
Am I likely to damage the surrounding bodywork when removing the fairings ?

You'll be bolloxed because the pods are stuck to the fairings with mastic which is in turn stuck to the underneath of the wing

Indeed (been there, done that!). But I suppose you could remove the pods, remove the perspex section and refit without... but if you're going to that effort you may as well get new perspex covers and refit.

I wouldn't advise new fairings unless yours are u/s. I believe you have to trim the edges to suit your car and having re-fitted mine (which are already the "perfect" shape) the thought of having to trim them as well is not appealing. If everything goes smoothly it is an easy job to do - the trouble is how many jobs on the TVR go smoothly...
